Internet based marketing has fully arrived. Since about 2005, it has gained major importance in the success of many businesses.

Many large corporations began to see this trend to earn money online and immediately follow.

Sure, they had websites but were they utilizing them to their full potential?

I’d like to start out by talking a little about of the most famous football coaches that ever lived: Vince Lombardi.

He once said to his team:

“Gentlemen, we're going back to the basics.”

“This is a football.”

After a bad loss, Vince decided to have his team start from the very beginning.

Like kindergarten football school!

Imagine being a pro ball player and you are going over the size and shape of a football?

You would think the coach was crazy. I mean you already know this stuff.

But let me tell you, when those players were made to learn the basics from scratch, they out-performed their league!

Why do you suppose it worked?

It gave every player the opportunity to learn their sport on a deeper level. That gave them more knowledge and in turn more confidence.

Because they truly knew more than any other team. They did something that no one else was doing.

And that gave them a HUGE edge. Even though it may seem simple and seem stupid by reviewing the basics at first, you will be amazed at how much more depth you get.

Sometimes we think we know what we are doing, only to find out later that we are missing some important details for success.

And later on down the road, that’s money left on the table that someone else will grab.

In other words, “you can never over-drill the basics”.

Keep understanding your subject, like internet based marketing, on a deeper level.

That will give you the edge in your field.

Revisit Your Methods

Personally, I review my material over and over and over. I want to make sure I’m not missing anything. And usually I find something I can improve.
