Why Wiki Answers is a Great Tool for Your BusinessWiki Answers (WikiAnswers) is a newer question and answer website. It launched in January of 2009. I’m sure you’ve heard of Wikipedia. It’s the same owner, but with a new twist. Like Yahoo Answers, people can ask or answer a variety of things and on any number of topics. But the main difference is that you don’t have to register to use the site, unlike other sites and you can add to the answers that someone else gave. This creates a Wiki-style Q & A.
It’s great because it’s another way for you to market your business and on a side note, you can add it to your sample marketing plan to get your marketing going strong. There are multiple categories to choose from. For example, if your business is about health and wellness, choose the category that fits closest to what you do. Remember, you are the expert in your field. In Wiki Answers, search for “unanswered questions” and browse to see who you can help. Always answer the question to the best of your ability so you can actually help that person out. At the end of your excellent response, include your website address. If you provided a great one, they are very likely to check out your site. Free traffic! Make absolutely certain that you are in no way spamming, or doing anything else that may considered bad. Your marketing ethics must have integrity. There are volunteers that monitor the site for all sorts of things, even typos. Under “flagged questions” there are questions that either don’t make sense or even have misspelled words. So spell check and make sure your answer is clear or else it will get flagged. Of course, make sure you only use your own original writing, not someone else's words. More great stuff!
